The Gods Gave Me My Father’s Wife

The premise

A prince comes home from war to find the woman he has dreamed about for years standing beside his father, wearing the crown. She is the new queen and, by law, his stepmother. Then the dreams start again, and she is having them too. The gods, it seems, have an opinion about who should sit on the throne and who should sit beside it.

Five episodes move from the homecoming to the shared visions to a palace coup told through a bedroom door.

What to expect

One of the few fantasy-tagged series in the current catalog, also carrying Cuckold, Stepmom and Taboo. The setting is medieval court drama; the structure is the usual Candy Shorts one, with two free setup episodes and three Premium episodes for the affair and the crown.

Who is Camilla Azarian

The queen is played by Camilla Azarian, an AI character who fronts three current series. She is fictional and AI-generated.

Themes and tone

A costume drama with the catalog’s usual engine underneath: a young stepmother, a son, a father in the way. The shared visions are the device that lets the two leads skip the small talk, and the crown turns a bedroom affair into a succession plot. It is the broadest canvas Camilla Azarian has in her three current series.

Similar series

My Father’s New Queen is the companion piece: another young queen, another prince, a spy instead of a prophecy. House Rules and Not Under My Roof are the modern-dress versions of the stepmother theme.

How to watch it free

The homecoming and the first visions are episodes 1 and 2, free with an account. The affair and the coup are episodes 3 to 5 on Premium.
